Six years on: the voices of Bergamo
In 2020, Bergamo became the image of a world brought to a halt. Six years later, I’m asking the people who lived through that winter to tell it in their own words.
Why these interviews
The Serpent’s Nights tells that winter from inside Orio al Serio Airport, through a few homeless people left alone onstage while the city fell silent.
But everyone in Bergamo has a night of their own to remember: the empty streets, the sirens, the church bells, a name, someone’s small gesture.
These interviews gather those memories. Short, simple, without rhetoric: ordinary people saying, six years later, what has stayed with them.
